Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Outbreak Treyarch

Job Listing Hints At Outbreak Mode For Treyarch’s Next Call of Duty

Outbreak Mode Returning?

Infinity Ward has led Call of Duty to new heights in 2022. Call of Duty Warzone 2.0 was released last year in November and was loved worldwide by fans, reaching 25 Million players in the first five days after its release.

While the current Call of Duty game continues to perform well, Treyarch is hard at work on a new Call of Duty from the developer, and it looks like the popular Outbreak mode from Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will be making a return for the upcoming title.

Treyarch is hiring for many positions for the game, and one of them is for the Senior Level Designer. The job description states:

As a Senior Level Designer, you will work on production content for Call of Duty Warzone, Outbreak, and other large map experiences.

This could mean the Outbreak will return in the Treyarch upcoming Call of Duty game. The mode brings unlimited zombies and vehicles to travel faster in the region. Players can also explore the vast open map at their own pace, making for a more casual-friendly take on the traditional zombies gameplay that fans have enjoyed over the years.

Similar to other zombie modes, Outbreak also features a universal progression system. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War allows players to rank up weapons and earn camos in Outbreak mode for use in multiplayer or Warzone. If the mode is set to make a return, the progression system will likely carry over as well.

While this does not directly confirm that Outbreak will come back, it is still exciting for Call of Duty fans that Treyarch may be looking to expand on the new take on zombies. Are you excited to try the mode again? Let’s discuss this in the comments.
