Although Cyberpunk 2077 has experienced its share of highs and lows, fans are excited about the long-awaited expansion. Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red announced the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 and released a teaser. Now it seems like we will be getting more details about this expansion very soon.
Well-known insider Tyler McVicker claims that CD Projekt Red will show off the Phantom Liberty expansion at The Game Awards 2022 on December 8, 2022.

Earlier this year, CD Projekt Red revealed that the marketing for Phantom Liberty expansion would start in Q4 of 2022, and The Game Awards will not be a bad place to kick off the marketing. The company might also formally announce Cyberpunk 2077 Game of the Year/Complete Edition at the event.
Fans can therefore expect to learn more about the Phantom Liberty expansion, possibly at The Game Awards. It would not be too far-fetched to expect new gameplay from the developer if the report is to be believed.
Along with a fresh new cast of characters, Phantom Liberty will include Johnny Silverhand’s comeback. The expansion will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. CDPR confirmed that the Cyberpunk expansion would not be released on older consoles like PS4 and Xbox One due to technical difficulties.
Cyberpunk 2077 will also get a Game of the Year/Complete Edition. This edition will include the base game and the upcoming expansion – just like the Witcher 3 Game of the Year Edition. It will be available in 2023, soon after the launch of Phantom Liberty.
2022 has been an excellent year for CD Projekt Red and Cyberpunk 2077. Following the massive success of Edgerunners, CD Projekt achieved a record third quarterly earnings thanks to solid sales of Cyberpunk 2077. The company also announced that The Witcher 3 would get a next-gen update on December 16, 2022.
