Soulcalibur Remaster

Bandai Namco Reportedly Plans On A Soulcalibur Remaster

Another Classic Getting Remastered!

Soulcalibur is a series of fighting games developed by Project Soul and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The series is undoubtedly one of the most influential fighting games of all time, with several spin-offs and sequels over the years.

In a recent episode of the XboxEra podcast, Shpeshal Nick revealed that Bandai Namco might be planning to remaster the original Soulcalibur game.

However, the source was uncertain whether the company intends to remaster the entire collection, given that Soulcalibur games are relatively old. Nick also believes that the game(s) could be released on Xbox Game Pass.

Nick said:

“I have heard that Namco might be looking at a remaster.”

This should be all taken with a grain of salt, of course, as nothing is confirmed right now, and we suggest waiting for an official announcement.

An HD version of the game was previously released for the Xbox 360 in 2008 but did not include an online fighting mode. However, backward compatibility makes the game playable on the latest Xbox consoles.

A while ago, a modder released an AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack for the Dreamcast version of  Soulcalibur. Players can use this texture pack via Dreamcast’s emulator, Reicast, to improve the game’s visuals.

This gives us a rough idea of what a remastered Soulcalibur game would look like. Soulcalibur was one of the highest-rated fighting games at one point. A remastered version would certainly do well and introduce the game to a newer generation.

What are your thoughts on a remastered Soulcalibur game?
