Sony PSVR2 Weighs 40g Less Than PSVR1; Manual Leaked Online

PSVR2 To Weigh 560g

Sony PlayStation Virtual Reality headset PSVR2 is the successor to PSVR1 with many improvements in hardware, sensor, and build quality level to provide a next-Gen Virtual Reality experience on PlayStation 5 consoles.

PSVR2 is expected to release in early 2023, but today manual has been leaked, revealing some more details about the new VR headset;

The specifications from the manual confirm that PSVR2 will weigh 560g which means that PSVR2 will be 40g lighter compared to its older version, PSVR1.

  • Resolution: 2000 x 2040 per eye
  • Display: OLED HDR
  • Field of View: 110Β°
  • Haptics: Headset and controller
  • Tracking: Six-axis motion sensor, 4 cameras for headset and controllers, IR camera for eye-tracking

PSVR2 will appear the same as PSVR1 but will be more comfortable to wear for long gaming periods. Sony claims that it will take virtual gaming to “a whole new level” after the launch of its PSVR2 as it has significantly improved its specs. PSVR2 will cost approximately the same as PSVR1, around $399.
