Despite many thinking that 2K Games has abandoned the Bioshock franchise, the publisher has been making volatile attempts to create a new entry since 2013. For more than a decade, they’ve encountered several serious rough patches that have gutted the title several times, even changing the studio at one point.
Fortunately, Bioshock 4 still lives on and is in development at Cloud Chambers, a studio explicitly made for the franchise. That said, we’ve yet to hear official details from 2K Games, but a new leak has emerged, unearthing key elements including the setting, characters, and more.
Previous leaks did confirm that the game was set in Antarctica around the 1960s period, but this report delves deeper into the setting. The map appears large, and the current image shows a model of base canyons, which will be further engulfed by snow in the final product, since harsh weather is expected to be featured in the game.

A large casino is also present in the game, which may be a point for a large-scale battle. Other details mention ‘Solaria’ or ‘Solaris’, which seem to be a district or location, but similar info about ‘Solarians’ was also mentioned in the report, which implies it may also be a faction or group of people; that remains to be seen. Overall, Bioshock 4 retain the aesthetics of the first few games.
Male Flusher is a new enemy type akin to Splicers from earlier games. ADAM is also making a comeback, a substance that grants superhuman abilities, but is also addictive at the same time.
As for the characters, a few renderings of a statue of a golden man can be seen in the images, with a striking and bold pose, holding an entire globe with his hands. This might be the first look at the game’s villain, and traditionally, it is pretty similar in terms of reverence to an average Bioshock villain.
The main protagonist is speculated to be this model of a man dressed in a grey suit and tie, and perfectly fits the archetype of the series’ hero.
Even though this information isn’t much to go on, considering fans have waited more than a decade for a new Bioshock game, we hope to see an official reveal sometime next year. Furthermore, much of the game must have changed by now, considering the project underwent a massive overhaul in 2022.
