The market is in a weird spot right now, considering the massive chip shortage and unrealistically high prices. Companies have been analyzing the market for their next moves, and so is AMD. After having a successful 2025, with its Radeon RX 9000 series, the company is rumored to be launching its next-gen GPUs in 2027.
Reliable insider, Kepler_L2, has stated that the next-gen AMD RDNA 5 GPUs will launch in mid-2027, which follows almost the same release cycle as the company used for its previous generation GPUs.

There were rumors that AMD would be skipping TSMC this generation in favor of Samsung nodes; however, Kepler has claimed that it isn’t true. RDNA 5 GPUs will still be using TSMC N3P nodes based on a 3nm process, which is a refined version of RDNA 4’s N4P, based on a 5nm process.
On paper, there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of upgrades, but based on the smaller architecture, these chips will be more powerful and a lot more efficient, and most importantly, will power the next generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

Guessing a solid price range at this point is near impossible based on the market’s condition. But the RDNA 5 GPUs are indeed launching in 2027, and production will start soon. And considering how volatile the current chip market is, we can most certainly expect high prices across the board.
AMD nailed this generation because it was able to provide excellent value over Nvidia’s current-gen offerings, but if the prices remain this way in the upcoming years, we are doubtful Team Red would be able to continue with this.
