Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Surpasses 6 Million Sales Mark

It's Over 6 Million!

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot was released for various consoles and PC in 2020. Later, a current-gen version of the game was released for Xbox Series S|X and PlayStation 5 with enhancements like 60 fps support and improved graphics.

Recently, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot surpassed 6 million copies sold worldwide. The current-gen release of the game, with improved performance and visuals, has likely helped boost sales. However, this achievement could also be attributed to the DLC releases of the game.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is one of the best-selling anime games of all time, with the first place going to Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 from the same developer.

Prior to its release, Dragon Ball games had not covered the anime and manga story for many years. Recent releases like Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Dragon Ball FighterZ introduced new elements into the story to mix things up.

However, Cyber Connect 2 wanted to take fans on a nostalgic journey with their Dragon Ball game. The game’s gorgeous visuals and faithful adaptation after several years have likely been one of the biggest reasons for its ongoing success.

A fifth DLC for the game has recently been announced, called “Chaos at the World Tournament”. The DLC will feature a younger Goku fighting against Piccolo Junior, three years after the death of the Great Demon King Piccolo. The content will be available with Season Pass 2, which includes DLC 4 and 5, as well as an unannounced DLC 6.
