The Layers Of Fear Franchise Has Reached 12 Million Players

More To Come!

Layers of Fear is a psychological horror game from Bloober Team, released in 2016 for PC and various platforms. The game takes place in a large Victorian-era mansion, and the player takes on the role of a psychologically disturbed painter who is trying to complete his masterpiece.

According to Bloober Team, the Layers of Fear franchise has surpassed 12 million players. The franchise has had two main entries in the series, with the first one being released in 2016 and a sequel coming three years later in 2019. The series has also had some spin-off titles, including a VR game.

Bloober Team is currently working on a new Layers of Fear title.

Although Layers of Fear 1 and 2 are not connected to the same storyline, this new entry will connect the narrative between the first two games with a chapter tying up the story while providing old players with a fresh new experience.

The game is built on Unreal Engine 5 with features like Ray Tracing, HDR, and 4k resolution. The game has no exact release date yet, but Bloober Team has set a target for June 2023.

2023 seems to mark a return to the golden age of survival horror games. Classic franchises like Resident Evil and Dead Space have already returned with phenomenal remakes, and Silent Hill 2 Remake from Bloober Team is also expected this year. This should mean fans have plenty of content to be excited about, with plenty of choices for their preferred horror franchises.
