Splinter Cell Remake To Feature Photorealistic Graphics

Photorealism Coming To Splinter Cell!

The original Splinter Cell is now two decades old and remains a fan-favorite title. Last year, Ubisoft announced that the developer is working on a remake of the original Splinter Cell title. The game is said to be a complete remake for new and old audiences alike. However, the game is in the early stages, and the developer has not revealed much about the Splinter Cell remake.

While details continue to be limited, a new job listing for Senior Character Artist[Splinter Cell] at Ubisoft Toronto has now revealed that the Splinter Cell remake will feature photorealistic graphics.

The job listing talks about the team’s aims to deliver next-generation visuals for the classic title. One of the responsibilities for the job mentions photorealistic 3D character models. It states,

“Create highly detailed and photorealistic 3D character models and textures for use in-game, including heads, hair, and clothing.”

This means that the Splinter Cell remake will go above and beyond, utilizing the full potential of the new console hardware. The original title is still remembered fondly for its ground-breaking visuals and lighting techniques, and the team appears to be trying to recapture this charm for the upcoming remake.

When talking about the Splinter Cell remake, associate-level design director Zavian Porter stated,

“We’re aiming to create this top-tier remake and push quality as much as possible. This should help us set a good foundation for the franchise going forward.”

As such, the Splinter Cell remake will set the benchmark for the franchise’s future. Ubisoft could be looking to test the waters for photorealistic visuals and push the boundaries even further with subsequent releases. Fans can rest assured that the Splinter Cell remake will be on par with modern visual standards, maybe surpassing everything that has come out so far.
