Tekken Director Katsuhiro Harada Multiple Titles

Multiple Tekken Games Might Be In Development From Bandai Namco

More Tekken Goodness!

The Tekken franchise is nearly three decades old and has continued to remain relevant to modern fighting games. After the incredible success of Tekken 7, a follow-up title was revealed last year, and fans worldwide are looking forward to playing a brand-new game with Tekken 8. While this is already exciting enough, Bandai Namco could have even more good news for fans.

Bandai Namco’s recent financial report claims that multiple Tekken games are in development from the studio. The rough translation states:

From the next fiscal year onwards, new titles in the Tekken series and joint development with from Software have been decided.

Last year, Famitsu asked Japanese developers about their future projects. Katsuhiro Harada from Tekken stated that he has multiple titles he’s working on, and he will do his best.

Katsuhiro Harada is not the director of Tekken 8, but he is heavily involved in the project. He did not go into too many details about his future projects, but the financial report could mean that Katsuhiro Harada is working on a side story in the Tekken universe or a different Tekken game

Bandai Namco could also be counting re-releases traditionally seen for fighting games after a certain amount of time. For now, the exact implications of this statement are unclear, and it could also be a potential translation error.

Recently, Katsuhiro Harada and the development team also released a lot of new information about Tekken 8, with an elaborate explanation of the gameplay systems. A closed alpha test has also been announced for the game, and fans can expect to learn more details in the upcoming months.
