Fix your internet to fix the error, or check if the ESPN servers work.
A draft in ESPN refers to the process of selecting players for a fantasy team in a fantasy league. But sometimes, there’s an error called “ESPN draft not working” caused by multiple reasons, including unstable internet connection or server issues. The error was also reported by users on Reddit.
ESPN Draft is a fun feature that lets you play different games with your friends or family.
It stops working because you might have an unstable internet connection, outdated app, obsolete device software, wrong credentials, or server issues.
To fix the problem, you can check your network connection, download the latest version of both the ESPN app and the device, or reset your password.
Why Is ESPN Draft Not Working?
If you are experiencing issues with accessing the ESPN fantasy football draft or any other draft, there could be a few different causes. Some possible issues include the following:
The website or app is down for maintenance.
There is a problem with your internet connection.
Your device or browser is not compatible with the site or app.
You may have an outdated version of the site or app.
There might be an issue with your login credentials.
How To Fix ESPN Draft Not Working Error
Before moving on to these fixes, ensure your app is updated and try checking your internet to see if it works. In the case that there are issues with it, you can fix the error by fixing the internet. One way you can do this is by power cycling your internet router!
If that doesn’t fix it, here are all the tried and tested fixes I’ve found:
Check ESPN servers
Update your device
Update your browser
Clear your browser’s cookies and cache
Access the app via different devices
Access the site through different browsers
Reset your password
1. Check ESPN Servers
I’ve had times when the error appeared due to the servers being down. There might be a possibility that ESPN is facing down serves due to maintenance or some other reason. To check the ESPN servers, you can follow the below-mentioned procedure:
Open any browser.
Search for “Is ESPN down” or “ESPN fantasy football issues today.”
Click on the first link that appears.
The Downdetector window will appear. It will tell you whether or not the ESPN servers are down.
2. Update Your Device
An outdated device software can also lead to the ESPN snake draft not working, consequently leading to the error. As such, I greatly suggest you update your device.
Turn on your PC.
Go to “Settings” > “Windows Update.”
Click on “Check for updates.” If there’s any new update, it will be displayed. You can install the update and restart your PC.
Once it has been restarted, launch the ESPN app to check whether or not the error has vanished.
The process for updating an Android device can vary depending on the specific device and the version of Android it is running. However, the general steps to update an Android device are as follows:
Navigate to “Settings” > “System” > “Software update” > “Check for updates.”
If an update is available, it will begin downloading automatically.
Once the update is downloaded, you will be asked to install it. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
3. Update Your Browser
Another issue I faced was with my Chrome. I was using an older version, which caused the error to occur. It took me less than 10 minutes to update it and get the error fixed!
Open Google Chrome.
Click on the three dots in the top right corner of the browser window.
Select “Help” > “About Chrome.”
Chrome will automatically check for updates and download the latest version if available.
Once the update is downloaded, Chrome will prompt you to relaunch the browser. Click “Relaunch” to complete the update.
Alternatively, if you want to update Chrome on your Windows PC, you can also go to “chrome://settings/help” on your Chrome browser, and it will check for updates.
Launch Mozilla Firefox.
Click on the three lines in the top right corner of the browser window.
Select “Help” > “About Firefox.”
Firefox will automatically check for updates and download the latest version if available.
After downloading the update, Firefox will ask you to restart the browser. Click “Restart to Update Firefox” to complete the update.
As another option, you can also go to “about support” on your Firefox browser, which will check for updates and show you your current version.
Note: Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox update themselves automatically in the background, so this process may not be necessary.
4. Clear Your Browser’s Cookies & Cache
Clearing the cache can also help solve the ESPN draft not working error. Even apart from this specific error, this helped me get significantly faster loading times, so I recommend trying this out!
5. Access The App Via Different Devices
If you have tried the fixes mentioned above and they are of no use, then I recommend you try opening the ESPN app via different devices. Switch your device to check whether or not the app is functioning correctly. If the error is fixed, the error is due to that specific device.
With both this and the next fix, our team could successfully treat the error, and users on Reddit also reported that similar methods helped them.
6. Access The Site Through Different Browsers
I also suggest you try accessing the site through different browsers if the error persists. Switch your browser and go to the ESPN website to check if it’s working fine or not.
7. Reset Your Password
I’ve had to reset my password several times when the error doesn’t go away. While it’s frustrating, it’s also very effective, so I suggest you try this if nothing works.
Go to the ESPN website and click “Sign In” > “Forgot Password.“
Enter the email address or username associated with your ESPN account.
You will receive an email with a link to reset your password. Follow the instructions in the email to reset your password.
